Privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026
1. Introduction
This privacy policy explains how Y99 collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our platform. Our core philosophy is simple: we collect almost nothing and share nothing.
2. Information we collect
We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information to use the service. When you chat, we process messages in real time and do not store them on our servers permanently. Logs exist only temporarily for abuse detection and are purged regularly.
3. How we use your data
The minimal data we handle — like room selection and connection metadata — is used solely to match you with others and keep the platform running. We never sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties. Ever.
4. Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and improve site performance. There are no tracking cookies, no analytics pixels, and no advertising scripts. You can disable cookies in your browser, and most of the platform will still work.
5. Third-party services
Our platform uses a few external services for CDN delivery and font hosting. These providers have their own privacy policies, but we've chosen them specifically because they respect user privacy and don't profile individuals.
6. Data retention
Chat messages are not stored beyond what's necessary for the session to function. Connection logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security purposes and then permanently deleted.
7. Your rights
Since we collect minimal data, there's not much to delete. But if you ever have concerns, you can reach out and we'll respond promptly. You can also simply stop using the service — there's no account to close.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new date. We'll notify users of significant changes via in-app notification.
9. Contact
If you have questions about this policy, reach out at contact page.
